One of the main advantages of Valle Nevado is how easy everything is once you arrive. If you stay in one of the in-resort hotels or residences, lift passes are usually included and provide access to both Valle Nevado and neighbouring La Parva — givingyou access to a larger ski area.
Equipment rental, from just a helmet only to full rental is available in resort and can be arranged in advance as part of your trip, ensuring everything is ready when you arrive. This helps you avoid queues and makes the first day on the mountain much smoother, especially after a long-haul journey.
Ski lessons are also easy to organise, with a full ski school offering group and private instruction across all ability levels. English-speaking instructors are widely available, making it a comfortable and accessible option for UK travellers who are learning or looking to improve.
June - Early season skiing and good value
June marks the start of the ski season in Valle Nevado.
Snow conditions can be more variable at this stage, but in good years, it can offer surprisingly strong early powder days. It’s also one of the quieter times to visit, making it appealing if you want space on the slopes and lower demand.
We tend to recommend June for:

- Skiers comfortable with variable conditions
July — Peak winter atmosphere and stronger snow cycles
July is when Valle Nevado begins to feel like a fully established ski destination.
Snow coverage improves across the mountain, more runs open, and the resort has a stronger mid-winter atmosphere. However, it’s worth noting that late July can be busier, particularly around school holidays and peak travel periods.
We recommend July for:

- skiers wanting a lively resort feel
August — The best all-round month for most travellers
August is generally considered the best time to ski Valle Nevado.
By this point in the season:
- The snowpack is at its deepest
- Most terrain is open
- Conditions are more consistent
Across Chile, August is widely regarded as the prime window for reliable skiing, with a strong base and regular snowfall refreshing the slopes.
September — Spring skiing, sunshine and a more relaxed feel
September brings a different kind of ski experience.
Days become warmer, the weather is often clearer, and the overall pace of the resort is more relaxed. Snow coverage generally remains good due to the established base built through winter, but conditions shift more towards spring skiing.
